Bunyips And Bigfoots: In Search of Australia’s Mystery Animals
Malcolm Smith
1996, Millennium Books
207 pp
Smith, a zoologist, has written a terrific book: enjoyable, fact-filled, and skeptical but open-minded in tone. He doubts the existence of both the title animals, but concludes there are some real mysteries to be solved. Smith believes Australia probably does house imported big cats, though he can’t imagine how they arrived, and is also impressed by some “sea serpent” reports from Australian waters.
